The always impressive TEED was recently invited by Opel/Vauxhall to produce a collaborative video inspired by their upcoming urban premium car ‘ADAM’, due to be revealed later this year. ADAM is apparently all about self expression and is tipped to be highly customisable, aiming to appeal at the creative type who doesn’t want to drive a boring old plain car…

Whatever the situation, the TEED & ADAM collab has produced this awesome video for ‘American Dream Part II’ a track taken from TEED’s forthcoming debut album Trouble, released on the 11th June.

TEED will also be playing a string of live dates through the summer, including his headline London show at KOKO next Wednesday.

You can check out the video below and for more info visit the ADAM facebook or totallyenormousextinctdinosaurs.com.

You know that summer is on its way when the phrase “all-day, outdoor party” starts to get thrown about. With some of the best live acts in electronic music set to perform on Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend, We Are Industry will stamp its impression on Birmingham with the first in a series of great events this year.

Booka Shade, voted in the Top 5 live acts in the world by Resident Advisor, top the daytime bill with a live set. King of techno, Carl Craig will revisit the type of DJ set that made him famous back in the day, alongside the rising star Dubfire. After several sharp releases on Cocoon and Desolat, Dubfire (aka Ali Shirazinia) has set up SCI + TEC which has become a haven for young, pioneering DJs.

Completing the line-up is DJ T., whose background as a DJ, label owner, producer, club operator, publisher and journalist has put him in excellent stride for his breakthrough as an artist in his own right. He’ll be supported by the sounds of Burnski, Maxxi Sound System and a special set from Antonio Vendone B2B Adam Curtain.

An after party has been arranged for the strong-minded at a secret location from 11pm – 6am, with the likes of Manik B2B Burnski, Huxley, WiLDKATS, Ben Pearce and Paddy Lopaski.

Tickets are £15 (for pre-3pm entry) and £20 after, available from residentadvisor.net and be sure to check out the video below to get a glimpse of what your in for with Book Shade Live.

I still haven’t warmed to Grimes yet. The 24 year old indie sensation has many a blog and media outlet hot & bothered, attracted to her dark atmospherics, moody brooding and very subtle pop aesthetics. Sitting somewhere between Lykke Li & Little Boots, she matches her roving electro beats with a drawn out high pitched vocal style.

I’m still to understand her appeal and to be honest I find her voice grating and the beats mediocre at best. She strikes me as a try-hard ADHD electro hipster who rides on her ‘quirky’ ‘unique’ persona more than her musical accomplishments – just google “Grimes boat Mississippi” and you’ll see what I mean.

But hey, thats just my opinion, what do you think about her rise to fame and subsequent domination of everyones 2012 playlists? Check out her latest video below and find out more at grimesmusic.com

Hailing from Bergen County, New Jersey, childhood friends Brian Sella and Mathew Uychich formed The Front Bottoms after nearly a decade of friendship and musical exploration. With a sound thats hard to place they incorporate simplistic drum patterns and a driving acoustic rhythm alongside scattered song structuring to form their unique brand of punk influenced pop. Despite their less than stellar band name, the boys have made a huge splash in their hometown Jersey Tri-state area and impressed at this years SXSW – landing firmly on the radars of legions of fans across the US.

They’ve just dropped the video for their latest single ‘Looking Like You Just Woke Up’ the lead single from their self titled debut album, which is out now on Bar/None Records. You can check it out below, alongside their breakthrough track ‘Maps’ and keep scrolling for their just announced UK tour dates.

After a 3 year wait, Passion Pit are finally ready to drop their sophomore album Gossamer – the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut Manners.

The album will drop July 24th, but until then the band have just posted the lead single ‘Take A Walk’ to tide fans over. Steeped in the familiar sounds that defined their rise to fame ‘Take A Walk’ boasts rising synths, sharp drums and the Passion Pit feel-good-vibes; although fans will notice that frontman Michael Angelakos gives up his falsetto and delivers a more direct and focused vocal style that is set to epitomise their evolution in sound.

Bank holiday weekends; time for huge lineups, drinks deals all night and the same old dross time and time again. Add that extra day into the weekend, and innovation seems to go out of the window. Well, if you are still on the lookout for something different, great music and an unbeatable party in one of the capital’s best clubs then look no further than EGG’s 9th birthday with Berlin Berlin.

EGG has built a reputation over the years for bringing the world’s biggest leftfield names to London. Recently redesigned, but still retaining its sense of adventure, EGG is the place to be this Saturday.

Ibiza favourite Monica Kruse is the top of the bill on a an eclectic bill of house, electronica and techno. Her DJ appearances over the past 20 years have helped her build up a solid reputation as a mainstay of electronic music and she continues to help great new artists emerge through her labels Electric Avenue and Terminal M.

Hamburg duo Kaiserdisco will be treating clubbers to their Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk influenced sounds, offering up a mix of their peppered beats with some serious techno, no doubt both Patrick and Frederick will deliver. The duo have built an international reputation by touring throughout Europe, the US and Asia, remixing for the likes of Booka Shade, UMEK and Sweedish pop sensation Robyn has also won them an epic following.

Next up to the decks is D.Ramirez who has achieved a spectacular array of accolades from the industry including five top 20 hits, and both Best Remix and Best Producer awards from DJ Magazine. The infamous DJ and Producer has performed on every continent, making him one of the globes most wanted and influential people on the electronic music scene.

And whilst ‘famous in Holland’ might not be a great billing for most people, Edwin Oosterwal is not about to go and ruin his chance to taken on the world having established himself as a pioneer in his own country over the past 15 years.

All in all, this is not a night for music fans to miss and should help banish those Monday blues for weeks to come.

The 1st May will see the launch of thespace.org an ‘interactive online museum’ whose first project will be the archiving of John Peels record collection. Standing at a presumed 70,000 records, cd’s & singles, The Space will document and display the collection 100 records at a time. Accompanied by notes from the man himself, alongside archive sessions and interviews conducted over the years, it aims to be the most comprehensive guide to the mind of John Peel.

Right now the site is blank, but check back tomorrow for the sites launch, and then each week for new additions as they attempt to create this unique archive of music online.

For more info on thespace.org visit the site at thespace.org but for now you can occupy your thirst for Peel by listening to his favourite band The Fall below.
