But its not the end result thats the most impressive feature of his work, its the sheer speed at which he pumps out the work.

Red Bull Canimation is a new nationwide competition that calls for aspiring animators to get creative by producing a short film where the Red Bull can takes centre stage, and get their work in front of a stellar judging panel including The Mill, 12foot6, Aardman, 4Creative and the British Animation Awards.

There are three categories – Drawn, CGI and Stop Motion, giving entrants the opportunity to win internships at the judges studios, equipment and software plus the opportunity to be featured on Channel Four and cinemas nationwide.

Check out the video below for more details and a look at some of the ideas so far and hit up www.redbull.co.uk/canimation for full details.

I Need Nothing – a nearly useless odyssey is a design project from portugal music packaging design firm Cãoceito.

In their own words…

“Repositories of stories and its enriching emotions, the covers, that accomodate the existing panoply of musical genres, are the motto for this exibition. The focus is made on album covers that often conquer our memory even when music slightly reached our ears. Major graphic disasters or deified, unduly ignored or zeitgeists, covers provide listening with a touch and an image, with the act of collection and share. From cover to cover, going thru all the stories (and histories), we wrote a new one to the sound of a song that repeats: I need nothing, I’ve everything I need.”

‘I need nothing’ is an original concept from Cãoceito + Burdman, shot by Moopie. Its premier happens as a tangential project of EXD’11. Check it out below.

Born in 1977 in Stuckey, Florida, Linzy graduated from the MFA program at the University of South Florida in 2003. He also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and in 2007, he was named a Guggenheim fellow. Linzy’s best known work is a series of video art pieces satirizing the tone and narrative approach of television soap opera. Linzy performs most of the characters himself, most of them in drag. His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Art in America, and Artforum. In 2007, New York Magazine named him one of the their ten most promising artists.

Recently he has been selected to exhibit his work at the renowned Saatchi Gallery in London. This show will feature a full live performance from Kalup, well known for creating works in a wide variety of media – film, music and painting. His pieces reference elements of popular American culture, gender and race. His unique narrative, music and videos fuse dramatic intensity with melodramatic irony. He has also attracted the likes of James Franco & Chloe Sevigny as frequent collaborators in both his art pieces and musical projects.

The show will take place at The Saatchi Gallery October 14th 7-10pm, for guestlist visit http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/
