Young Rival has just dropped the video for their latest single ‘Black Is Good’. The video is a throwback to the ‘Magic Eye’ trend of the 90’s, you remember them don’t you? Those books in which you stare at a random pattern on a page a hidden image appears.
Producing the effect for video is a little different, it uses a stereogram technique rather than the flat autostereogram used in Magic Eye. Stereograms are made digitally, and use subtle changes in a repeating pattern to combine depth information for both eyes into one single image. By tricking your eyes into viewing these images a certain way one can see a three dimensional scene.
