A slew of short films hit the internet every month, budding filmakers building their portfolios, practicing their art & simultaneously trying to attract the attention of the industry they rely on to shape a career for them in the future. Unfortunately few get noticed online and the film festival system is still the primary way for independent teams to get noticed – but Stephan Zlotescu’s sci-fi short ‘True Skin’ has bucked the trend and caused quite a stir after only 7 days online.
Shot in Bangkok by cinematographer H1 in association with N1ON productions, it’s set in a not-too-distant future world in which augmented reality is the norm – with impressive visuals, stylish themes and razor sharp editing, the attention it’s attracting is more than justified.
