Fans of the original Evil Dead in all its campy glory balked at the idea of a remake, even though director Sam Raimi had given his full blessing and has a hands-on involvement in the production – but those worries we’re laid to rest when the red band trailer dropped this week.
With a massive overhall and a complete flip in style and tone, its no longer tongue-in-cheek-comedy-horror, its a brutal & gory looking arc back to real horror. No modern meta self awareness, tech based story trappings or genre hopping – just a brutal, no holds barred slash-em-up.
