The Man With The Iron Fists tells the story of a weapons maker who must unite his village to fight off the threat of a renegade villager who vows to destroy them all. It all sounds like standard, by-the-books, Kung Fu fodder – and usually i’d be agreeing with you, but…
Written over the last 2 years by Eli Roth (Hostel 1 & 2, Inglorious Bastards) & RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, directed by RZA and produced by Quentin Tarantino. Those credentials will force me to give it the time of day.
The trailer is a flurry of disconnected, beautiful visuals and the it seems to have a very Kill Bill aesthetic to it – funnily enough the original cut of the film stood at 4 hours, RZA wanted to split into 2, much like Kill Bill – but was convinced by the team to make large edits and cut it down to 90 minutes.
