The Great Gatsby – Official Trailer

The trailer has just landed for what will be the second big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s literary classic ‘The Great Gatsby’. This time directed by Baz Luhrmann (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Australia) and starring Tobey Maguire as the budding young writer Nick Carraway who is chasing his American dream in prohibition era 1920’s New York. Carraway quickly gets drawn in to the mysterious world of his neighbour, the elusive Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) – a world where “the parties were bigger, the morals were looser, and the liquor was cheaper”.

It hits cinemas later this year, so we’ll have to wait to see how the adaptation of one of the most loved books in modern American literature translates to screen. But with Luhrmann at the helm, DiCaprio in the lead and the support of Tobey Maguire & Carey Mulligan, we’re looking forward to what could be the cinema event of the year.
