Joining the band at the launch of their new single “New Fade Away” in East London’s favourite snooker bar Efes, Noisey’s latest 5 part mini doc showcases one of the brightest hopes in British music in 2011.
Fronted by former Les Incompetents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man member Fred Macpherson, Spector produce a ‘new romantic’ influenced blend of macabre indie-pop that is consistently teetering on the fine line between melodramatic and passionate.
Started as a one man project last year by Fred and his trusty Casio keyboard, his vision quickly grew and required a richer sound and the support of a full band. He began recruiting and moulding the band you witness today. Achieving a great deal of progress in a relatively short period of time, the boys are ever increasing the tight control on the conceptual formula that dictates their every move – Fred’s vision. With a clear love for classic British indie eccentrics like Jarvis Cocker & Bryan Ferry, the bands look & feel are just as important to the bands appeal as the music.
The Noisey crew joined the band recently and produced a 5 part mini doc, which you can view below. You can find out more about the boys at Spector.co.uk
