The Slits lead singer Ari Up has passed away at only 48. The Slits began when Ari was only 14 and were arguably the most influential all girl punk band in history. The group released two albums, including 1979’s masterpiece Cut which saw the threesome posing topless on the front cover and Return Of The Giant Slits before breaking up 1982. Ari continued her musical career, working with artists such as Lee Scratch Perry, The New Steppers and solo as Baby Ari & Medussa. The announcment was made via John Lydon’s website…
