Auditory Pleasures // #46

Welcome aboard to another peruse round some of the hottest new tracks this week.

Covers, as I’d imagine, are bread and butter stuff for Mark Ronson following his 2007 make and break cover album, Version. Thankfully the trumpets aren’t involved in Ronson’s take of Arcade Fire’s grand We Used To Wait, which strips back the grandeur of the original and involves significantly less instrumentation.

Having been out of the spotlight for quite some time now The Go! Team return with the first piece of new material from their upcoming new album – Rolling Blackouts. The track, titled T.O.R.N.A.D.O, features exactly the energy, power and the eclecticism you’d expect to hear from the Brighton based sextet. At a little over two minutes T.O.R.N.A.D.O is a short and sharp introduction to any newcomers and a nostalgic “We’re back!” to any previous fans.

Not to be confused with the B.o.B namesake, Nothing On You is another sneak peek into N.E.R.D’s upcoming album Nothing. Following previews of Hot N’ Fun, Party People and Hypnotize U and now Nothing On You it seems N.E.R.D have once again found their rhythm with a combination of funky bass beats and casual vocals.

Two years ago, Morning Parade were trapped in a variety of dead-end jobs. Today they are on the cusp of releasing their debut single ‘Under The Stars’ on ltd 7″ and are set to bring their intensely uplifting brand of indie, electro, rock to the masses. This is a sound destined for stadiums and arenas, and might also be the sound of 2011?!? ‘Under The Stars’ is out on on November 29th on Parlophone records.
