Auditory Pleasures // #35

Auditory Pleasures is your chance to catch up with the freshest new tracks from this past week.

Passion Pit continue to receive the remix treatment over a year since Manners was released. This week came the turn of Penguin Prison to take on the band’s Little Secrets whilst in the midst of putting the finishing touches to his debut album. The remixed version takes a much more mellow approach, soothing the original’s high energy electronic sound and falsetto vocals.

New York based MC Hoodie Allen continues his assault on some of the best indie-pop numbers around, blending catchy indie riffs with his Chiddy Bang or Drake comparable social commentaries. This time it’s the turn of Two Door Cinema Club’s Undercover Martyn and as with Allen’s previous remix of Marina & The Diamonds You Are Not A Robot, the rehash is currently storming up the Hype Machine charts.

Taken from his upcoming I Am Not A Human EP, Right Above It sees fellow Cash Money Records artist Drake join the currently incarcerated Lil Wayne on vocal duties. Instantly recognisable and immediately catchy the duo combine together effortlessly for what I’m sure won’t be the final time.

Here We Go Magic’s take on Neon Indian’s Terminally Chill gives the track a new sense of feeling and more of a heart than the original thanks to the live instrumentation and varied vocals.
