Auditory Pleasures // #32

Another week and another chance to share an eclectic mix of new material with the readers of Faux.

So as is pretty rudimentary these days Panda Bear’s latest material got leaked, even making it’s way on to Pitchfork, something Panda Bear’s PR team weren’t all too happy about. The track themselves have received a good reaction, layering sounds and samples in a way only Lennox can to produce a cohesive yet disjointed sound in one fell swoop.

Cut Copy are back with a track taken from their as yet untitled upcoming new album. Where I’m Going takes the 50′s surf-pop vibe and gives it a 2010 makeover. The Australian trio are working with Ben Allen, who helped produce Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavillion, an influence which can be heard in the record right from the off.

Although not to everyone’s taste The Hood Internet continue to dominate the mashup scene with their latest mixtape Trillwave. Working the latest chillwave trend with mixes including Washed Out and Toro Y Moi the hour long set also features the likes of Pheonix, The Flaming Lips, Beach House, Drake, Lil Wayne and even a bit of Genesis.

Best Coast are a band I’ve covered quite often here on Auditory Pleasures. The band’s debut album was made available to stream over at Urban Outfitters this week and has already received plenty of plays from me. Tales of love and love lost are plentiful to say the least, highlight so far would have to be The End which talks of friendship and romance interweaving.
