Auditory Pleasures // #30

Another week, another fantastic selection of brilliant tracks from brilliant artists I’ve had the luck to hear.

The Thermals continue their tradition of producing damn good rock & roll records, this time in the shape of ‘I Don’t Believe You’ which will feature on the bands upcoming album Personal Life.

Best Coast this week previewed the first track proper from upcoming debut album Crazy For You. ‘Boyfriend’ takes a stance somewhere between the lo-fi distortion of Best Coast’s older material and the more preened sound heard on ‘When I’m With You’; all-in-all it bodes well for the album, which is hits shelves on the 26th of this month here in the UK.

As some of you may be aware I’m a big fan of Everything Everything and can’t wait for their debut album to drop in August. Clock Opera, who have been impressing with a flurry of remixes lately, took Everything Everything’s ‘MY KZ YR BF’ and added a chunky electro beat to the quirky number.

‘Green Eyes’ is taken from Wavves’ latest album King Of The Beach and quite possibly sums up Nathan Williams’ more accessible sound during its 3:46 duration. Beginning harmoniously with Williams’ gravelly yet much more melodic vocals once the track kicks in it’s more like the Wavves of old just much more honed and tight.
