Do you sometimes get kicks out of dropping song titles into conversation? I once dumped a girl purely using lines from The Strokes songs. Is This It? It’s Hard To Explain. Chris Packham, a guy on first impression about as cool as a tar roof in Ghana, clearly gets the same kick by seamlessly using The Smiths song titles in his presenting.
Does this make him cooler? I’d say so. Dropping song titles during what is apparently the BBC’s biggest outside broadcast takes some balls and a flawless knowledge of the band in question. Plus it’d be far easier if you were presenting something a bit more exciting than footage of fluffy birds sitting on their eggs and badgers digging holes. Which one is best? My personal choice would have to be his nonchalant expression as he waits and waits to utter “Sheila Take A Bow”. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
