Music // Just Be Good To Green

After his signing to Virgin Records last year Professor Green has been creating a huge buzz in the lead up to his debut album Alive Til I’m Dead. After the success of the INXS sampling lead single ‘I Need You Tonight’ he is back with ‘Just Be Good To Green’.

The track is a re-working/interpolation of Beats International’s 1990 No. 1 hit ‘Dub Be Good To Me’ and features the return of Lily Allen singing the main hook. After being introduced by mutual friends it wasn’t until a conversation over facebook that the pair decide to collaborate.

“…We started chatting about music and I mentioned I had just got the rights to sample ‘Dub Be Good To Me’. She was like “What? That’s my favourite song ever, let me hear what you done with it!“, so I sent it over and we ended up performing it live at Bestival”.

The video got previewed last week with a trailer posted all over Green’s facebook and twitter but the full video is out now featuring the pair arguing/flirting amongst a never ending line of girls, spinning and dancing around them. “I’m pretty excited about this video, it’s definitely a step up on the last one, so I’m excited about getting it out there”.

‘Just Be Good To Green’ is out on July 12th followed by the album Alive Til I’m Dead on July 19th. You’ll be able to read our full exclusive interview with Professor Green in the June issue of Faux out June 14th.
