Spike Jonze recently hooked up with premium vodka pusher Absolut to create his new short film I’m Here. The deal sees Jonze contracted in as part of the brands’ positioning strategy to make Absolut a “pioneering and culture-shaping” force; it follows previous projects in association with Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Helmut Newton.
I’m Here is a love story celebrating how life can be enriched by creativity. The film is set in contemporary L.A., where life moves at a seemingly regular pace with the exception of a certain amount of robot residents who live among the population. The robot lead, a library assistant, plods through an ordinary life in L.A. until a chance meeting opens his eyes to the power of creativity and ultimately, love. When this new life and love begin to fall apart, he discovers he has a lot to give.
The film will premier at Sundance this year. The trailer is below. Enjoy.
