Music // Blood, Tears & Gold

I first wrote about Hurts over at Platform back in May at which point they only had one song, the brilliant Wonderful Life. After coming 4th in the BBC Sound Of 2010, they’ve finally returned with a worthy successor to Wonderful Life’s doom-pop brilliance. It’s pure pop brilliance, from the slow building percussion line to the “I won’t let you down, baby, baby” chorus. Absolutely fantastic.

It’s unclear if Hurts will be releasing Blood, Tears & Gold, their only release so far is a 12″ of the Arthur Baker remix of Wonderful Life on 18/1/09 available here. Here’s looking forward to their debut LP, slated for a May release.

  1. really don't like the song, but those shoes are incredible!

  2. I really rate these guys, bit of a weird video though. Anyone know if they're going to be touring at all? There's a good article about Hurts here http://bit.ly/8eZR5G
